The following dispatch from San Irancisco, of date January 14th, will be found of interest to wheat growers, inasmuch as it is likely to affect the price of the cereal for the better in this valley : "Wheat freights have dropped to such a low figure that wooden ships are rapidly obtainable to go to Liver jool direct for twenty shillings per ton. The German iron ship Richard W;ner ha just been chartered for twenty-one shillings per ton, the lowest rate ever paid for an iron ship going to England. The overflowed fields south of the city were still visited yester day by scores of skaters, and the ice men were still hauling large quantities for next summer's use.
