A Government into which enact ment have been introduced, favoring a few of its citizens at the expense pnd to the detriment of the great majority of its people, has set the mills to work which will grind the patriotism out of its subjecs. Roosevelt, in an address, said “the cry against men of wealth is not justi’ liable.” There is no cry made against wealth; the complaint is against the unjust use of it. However, from the position Roosevelt takes, he is doubt less on the side of capital and against labor, aud must necessarily look upon the poverty of the masses, aud the pale, gaunt, starved and emaciated visages, of the victims of the competi tive system as exquisite paintings of the high degree to which the art of this diabolical system has progressed. THE BEGGARS WANT ALMS. watered stock and trust propositions it is estimated that the immensely wealthy institutions are doubling their possessions in about three and a half years. Now the questiou comes to each man who is working to gain a competency for himself and those whom he has to provide for, “how often can those large holdings be doubled up before the few hundreds, or thousands I possess will be swal lowed up iu the maelstrom which brings disaster to the lower levels of business?“ Wealth is exerting a powerful in fluence to sway governments, every where to concede favors which foster unequal conditions, and this inequal ity is breeding dissatisfaction among the citizens of all nations, and bring ing about conditions ripe for revolt everywhere. Our own nation is no exception. By reason of the great natural resources of this country the American people have been enabled to stand encroachments upon their rights, aud still to husband enough of the products of their labor upon which to live, but it is safe to con clude that by reason of their Jove for liberty and equity they will not brook serfdom. Water Cure far Chronic Constipation. Take two cups of hot water half an hour before each meal and just be fore going to bed, also a drink of water, hot or cold, about two hours after ench meal. Take lots of out door exercise- walk, ride, drive. Make a regular habit of this and in many cases chronic constipation may be cured without the use of any med icine. When a purgative is required take something mild and gentle like Chamberlain’s Stopiach and Liver Tablets. For sale by C. Y. Lowe.
