AUGUST 15, 2009 MOKE SIGNALS Tribal Council Candidates Forum Noon-3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 22 Tribal gymnasium (lunch will be served) 1 -itaB 2004 About 20 Tribal students and five student interns went to the Oregon Zoo, where the main event included a bird show where birds of prey flew around the audience. "It gives kids a chance to participate in activities with their friends, old and new, and to have fun together," said Education Division Manager Marion Mercier. 1999 Grand Ronde Tribal Elders hosted their first Honor Day at St. Michael's Church. Activities included banquet meals and bingo. Ann and Raleigh Anderson were honored as eldest man and woman, as well as the longest couple married. 1994 Tribal member Harold Blair's donation of $45,000 was used to purchase a mini-bus for Senior Services transports and ex cursions. The van was hand-painted by Steve Bobb of Willamina. It has three doors, a wheelchair lift and holds 23 people. 1989 Dance and craft classes are being held Tuesdays at the Tribal office in Grand Ronde. Eleven-year-old Toby McClary said he enjoys the classes. "Right now I am in the process of finishing a drum stick that I'm making in craft class. Jessie Standing Bear is teaching me how to drum at the dance classes and it's really exciting." 1984 Summer Youth workers Debby Childers, Angie Childers, Lydia Hostler, Doug Colton, Gregg Leno, Chris Current, Marty George, Scott "Rat" Denhem, Jimmy White, Kenny Adams and Teddy White were thanked for their work on the Cemetery and Depot grounds.
