Attention Grand Ronde Tribal & Community Members: The Cultural Resources Department is seeking individuals interested in serving on the Grand Iionde Cultural Trust Board, part of the Oregon Cultural Trust program. This is a statewide cultural plan to help raise funding for investment in Oregon's Art, Humanities and Heritage. Cultural Trust funds are dispersed annually to county, city, and Tribal governments in Oregon. A Cultural Trust board consisting of five Tribal and local com munity members is needed to assist in directing funds for various cultural activities through small grants. Three seats on the board are open to general Tribal and com munity members. Individuals interested in serving are encouraged to apply. Applications for the board are available at the Cultural Resources Department. All applications must be turned in to Cultural Resources by 5 p.m. on Friday April 20. Native American Applicants Sought For Hatfield Fellowship The Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde announce that applications for the Mark O. Hatfield Congres sional Fellowship are now available. Each year, a Hatfield Fellow serves as an intern for a member of Oregon's Congressional delegation. The Hatfield Fellow is selected from adult Native American applicants, who are enrolled members of a federally recognized Tribe in Oregon. If there are no qualified applicants from Oregon, enrolled members of federally recognized Tribes in Washington, Idaho, and Montana will be considered. The candidate will intern in Washington, D.C. for nine months and will receive a monthly stipend, relo cation and travel expenses, and tuition for the Ameri can Political Science Association orientation. . Deadline for applications is 5 p.m. April 20, 2007. Applicants will then be notified if they qualify for interviews. Late applications will not be accepted. The Fellowship honors Mark Hatfield for his ac complishments as a United States Senator, a former Governor of Oregon, and for his mentorship of many leaders in their own communities.
