Cost for a workshop is $150 and eligible Tribal members can apply to the Short Term Training program for assistance with regis tration costs. Space is limited to the first 15 who register. An other 40 items will be added once cataloged into the library database. 16 new Native American videos were purchased from Vision Maker and are available for checkout. Video purchase was made possible through the Tribe's Institute of Museum & Library Services Enhancement grant funding. Video titles include: Fire Warriors Navajo Code Talkers Ancient Spirit, Living Word Hand Games (Stick Games) The Great American Foot Race The Voyage Home XIT: Without Reservation American Cowboys Movie Time at the Library: The library recently purchased a TV and VCRDVD player so that we can begin showing movies at the library as part of library programming. Movies will be shown on Mon day evenings at 6 p.m. General Audience movies will be shown that are included in the Library's Movie Licensing authority. Titles will vary. Youth 12 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent. Young Adults ages 13-17 must be accompanied supervised by a responsible adult. The library is not responsible for transporta tion to and from the library. The Tribal Safety Ordinance regulations apply to all persons on Tribal property. "I Remember When..." sessions will begin January 2006. This pro gram is in developmental stages and will be for Elders who want to gather together to share stories about what they remember recall j about selected topics. Bi-Folkal Kits will be shared that may include . videos, booklets, songs, etc. that may help guide participants in re calling history and events in their lives. Topics and themes may in- : elude: Automobiles, Fashion, School Days and Music. Please contact the library if you are an Elder and are interested in participating in the "I Remember When..." sessions. These deadlines are also used for the school's scholarships as most schools use admissions applications for their scholarships. If you are still unde cided, apply to the schools you are most likely going to attend. January 15 is the priority deadline for the University of Oregon applications. Feb ruary 15 is the priority deadline for Oregon State University, Western Oregon University, and Portland State University. The CTGR Education Division can help pay for up to two admission application fees for CTGR Tribal members. Contact Education at 1-800-422-0232, ext 2275 for more information. Out of state students are eligible for in state tuition at Oregon University System Schools If you are an out of state student who is a member of an Oregon Tribe, or a Tribe that had traditional and customary boundaries in Oregon, you are eligible for in state tuition at any of the Oregon University System schools. This ruling acknowledges some California, Idaho, Nevada, and Washington Tribes, as well as the Modoc Tribe of Oklahoma. Only high school seniors with a 3.3 cumulative GPA are eligible to apply. This scholarship pays for 100 of unmet need for college for up to nine years. For more information, visit www.aigc.comhome.asp. It's FAFSA Time! College students must submit a new Free Application for Federal Stu dent Aid (FAFSA) each year. Apply as close to January 1 as possible. Each state has its own priority deadline, with most being by March 1. Don't delay and miss out on your chance for free money for school. Applications can be obtained from your high school counselor, college financial aid office, local library, the CTGR Education Division, or online.
