Robideau (Chippewa Ojibwe) and Dino Butler (Siletz) ended in their acquittal on the grounds of self-defense. The case of one other, 19-year-old Jimmy Eagle, was dropped a few weeks after the Cedar Rap ids, Iowa acquittal. The last of those tried was Leonard Peltier, who was found guilty on April 18, 1977 of two counts of murder in the first degree in the deaths at his trial in Fargo, North Dakota.
