Before the new expansion, prescriptions were limited to 200 a day. Now with the accommodation for more staff work space, the pharmacy can handle up to 600 prescriptions requests per day. New guidelines: School immunizations By Marline Groshong RN Yes, it's that time again. School will be back in session before you know it and our little one's must be vaccinated. The State of Oregon has new guide lines and children from kindergarten on up need to have at least the first Hepatitis B injection and varicella (chicken pox). Children at least four years' old must have their second Measles, Mumps and Rubella immunizations. The Grand Ronde Health and Wellness Center does not have the capabil ity to store varicella, it must be obtained from another provider's office or through the health department. However, on July 20 from 1-4 p.m. we will be giving vaccinations at the clinic. No appointment is necessary during those hours. Thank you and have a safe and fun summer. We will be constructing a new covered walkway into the main entrance of the clinic. For the safety of our clients, public entry through the main entry doors will not be allowed during construction. We will accommodate clinic access by other means of entry. We have not scheduled the construction at this time. However, we opened bids for the construction on June 9. ADVERTISEMENT FOR BID: CLOSING JULY 7 Water district seeking bids The Rock Creek Water District in Grand Ronde, Oregon is soliciting bids for the construction of a pri vate water storage facility, distri bution system, and package treat ment plant. Sealed bids will be received no later than 5:00 p.m., July 7, 2000 (postmarks not accepted). Deliver bids to either: Otak Inc., 17355 SW Boones Ferry Road, Lake Oswego, OR 97035 (503) 699-2442 OR the Rock Creek Water District, 8330 King Road, Grand Ronde, OR 97347 (503) 879-5044 The nature of the work is as fol lows: site development for the stor age tank and treatment facility. The installation of approximately 24,000 linear feet of 4-inch and 6-inch PVC and ductile iron pipe. Install ap proximately 100 service connections. Construction of a 200,000 gallon glass-lined bolted steel storage tank and a shelter for, and installation of a packaged water treatment fa cility. Also included in the project is the demolition of the existing water treatment facility. Copies of the bid package and plans may be obtained at the of fices of Otak, Inc. or the Rock Creek Water District. The plans and specification will be sold for $100 per copy. A non-mandatory pre-paid pack age conference is scheduled for Wednesday, June 21, 2000 at 9:00 a.m. at the project site. Contrac tors are asked to confirm atten dance and who have questions re sponded to Stephen Blanton at (503) 699-2448 at Otak, Inc. The Water District reserves the right to reject bids if they do not comply with all prescribed public procurement procedures and re quirements. The bid must include a statement indicating whether the bidder is a "Resident Bidder," as defined in ORS 279.029. No bid for construction contrac tor shall be received or considered by the Water District unless the bidder is registered with the Con struction Contractor's Board, as required by ORS 701.035. PUBLIC COMMENT: CLOSING JUNE 28 Environmental Assessments completed and Findings of No Significant Impact issued for the proposed KATSUK THIN and SAYA LOGGING UNITS GRAND RONDE RESERVATION The Environmental Assessments (EA) and Findings of No Significant Impact (FONSI) have been issued for the proposed Katsuk Thin Logging Unit in Sections 9, 10, 15, and 16, T.5S., R.8W., W.M., on the Grand Ronde Reservation and the proposed Saya Logging Unit in Sections 30 and 31, T.4S., R.7W., W.M. on the Grand Ronde Indian Reservation. The EAs disclose the issues relating to the environmental resources af fected by the Proposed Actions and alternatives to the Proposed Actions. The FONSIs disclose the alternative selected by the responsible official for each Proposed Action and gives supporting reasons for this selection. The EAs and the FONSIs for the Katsuk Thin Logging Unit and the Saya Logging Unit are available for public review and comment until 5:00 p.m. on June 28, 2000.
