Here is a listing of tribal programs and contact persons for your information. This publication is a monthly informational source intended to inform Tribal members of program services, activities, general infor mation, and is available on request. The Fish & Wildlife Program issues a Tribal license for hunting, fishing, and gathering within the Trask Unit -which is recognized by the State of Oregon as the Tribal hunting grounds. The program also works with the Tribes' Fish and Wildlife Committee to coordinate events -such as the securing of the Tribes' bi-annual supply of Subsistence salmon and subsequent distribu tion to Tribal members on a first-come, first-serve basis. The program also works with the Committee to inform Tribal members of such events. Housing Improvement Program: Director: Lonnie Leno; The Tribes' Housing Improvement Program offers repairs and purchase assistance to qualified Tribal members as funds are made available. Tribal Housing Program: Director: Lonnie Leno; The Tribal Housing program provides purchase assistance to qualified Tribal members. This program also provides emergency repair assistance to Tribal members according to their immediate needs. TT if a ilk Lonnie Leno Housing Program gets New Director Tribal member Lonnie Leno, born and raised in Tillamook, is the Tribes' new Housing Program Direc tor. Leno began working for the Tribe in June of this year and has been busy prioritizing the housing program files. "I've been going through the existing files and pri oritizing them by need. It has been a long process but, we are making ground and I'm happy about that," said Leno. After graduating from Willamina High School, Leno worked as a logger before becoming an apprentice plumber. After achieving his certificate of qualification for plumbing Leno worked in Alaska from 1983 to 1989 before coming to work for the Tribe. Leno's main job responsibilities include accepting housing applications from clients and talking to them to assess their degree of need. He also checks each job to see that the work is being done correctly as stated in the work contract. Leno also helps Tribal members with home purchases. Leno lives in Willamina with his family; wife Tammy, daughters Brianna (10), Brandy (8), and sons Bradley (6) and Brett (5), is proud to be a member of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde. "I feel very privileged to work for my Tribe and I will always try to do the best job that I can," said Leno. "I enjoy talking to and getting to know the people that I'm helping It gives me a feeling of accomplishment."
