The main event will be the Profession Wild H orse Racing Finals, featuring the top seven in the Professional Wild Horse Rac ing Association. Local wild horse racers will be in the competition. Two ¡teams in the Finals are from W arm Springs: T he Jason Smith Team, and the Anthony Blue Back Team. O n the Jason Smith Team are Smith, Colton David and Bear Spino. O n the Anthony Blueback team are Blueback, i Carlo Wallula turn and Clinton Tohet. F ro m M adras are th e Spud Smith Jr. Team, and the ¡Wrangler Howe Team. O n the S pud S m ith Jr. T eam are Smith Jr., Spud Smith and [Casey Usher. O n the Wran gler Howe Team are Howe, G e o rg e S pino an d Ja s o n Finals action last year, featuring top teams in the nation. Begay. From Klamath Falls will be the Washi Collins Team. From White Swan will be the Team Omeasoo. And from Shonto, Ariz., the Team BGB. The action begins at 6:30 p.m. b o th evenings. G ates open at 5:30. Admission on Friday is $8 for those 13 year and up; 6-12 year-olds, $6. O n Saturday, the admis sion is $10 for those 13 and up; and 6-12 years, $8. Five- years o f age and under are free both nights. O n Friday night there will be the rodeo, food, beverages and vendors. Added events on Saturday are the Champion ship Buckle presentation; and a dance with live music by Countryfied.. O ther rodeo events: Jun ior Colt Race, Bull Riding, Senior Colt Race, Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Businessman Cow Race, and Ranch Saddle Bronc. Movin’ Mountains entries will remain $25 per person, and divisions will include, like last year, men’s and women’s in d iv id u al c o m p e titio n s , men’s and women’s teams o f four, and two-person mixed teams. Last year, 328 people took part. O ne element that is new this year is that people who w ant to participate in both individual and team competi tions m ust pay separate entry fees o f $25. Participants can compete in up to two events. The essence o f the com petition— judging on a per centage o f w eight lost and inches from the w aist and hips— will remain the same as it has been. To create m ore winners, individual male and female competitions will have weight classes, to be determined af terweigh-ins. O rganizers plan to have essentially the same number o f people in each class, so the classifications will not be determined until weigh-ins. Check out the full-page ad on page 12 for more details.
