Second h alf As far as the second half was c o n cern ed the W hite Buffs did many things right and m ost im portantly made very few mistakes. Coach Wells was pleased with his team’s performance saying, “We just managed the game very well, and our play ers did a good job not turn ing the ball over and playing smart football.” In the second half Devin Ceciliani would grab an inter- c e p tio n a n d add a n o th e r touchdow n on a short pass from Haugen. The road ahead W ith th e Win ag ain st Estacada, the Madras White Buffalos find themselves at the fringe o f an o th er p o st season dream. B ut in order to realize th a t dream they m ust first face a familiar foe. The rivalry betw een Ma dras and Crook County likely goes back farther than m ost o f us can remember. Really all I can rem ember is thè pàsi tw o seasons, w h en it was Crook County controlling the ball and the game. and physical examination. The new W arm Springs children’s clinic will eliminate the need for the trip to Bend. H aving the clinic lo cated locally will alleviate som e o f this additional stress to the victim, she said. The game was 26-24 at the half with Crook County hold ing the slight edge. Madras matched the Cowboy running attack with there version o f an- airwar. In the second half Crook County outscored madras 20- 8 and seemed to be running away. But in the fourth quar te r th e W hite B uffs cam e su rg in g b a c k sc o rin g 20 points to Crook County’s 14. The end result was a 60- 52 thriller with Madras just missing out on a chance to tie near the end. It was by all standards a wild game. A sh o t at redem ption Madras will get a rare shot at red em p tio n this Friday night, w hen they once again play h o s t to th e C ro o k County Cowboys. T he w inner o f the state play-in-game will advance to round one o f the OSAAplay offs; the loser will be done for the season. Both teams have offensive w eapons, both team s have much improved defenses, and b o th team s have the same dream. But only one can ad vance... W ho will it be? Your guess is as good as mine, b ut I have feeling that this rime history may n o t re peat itself. Besides, w hat can be m ore fun than sitting with your family and friends on a chilly fall evening cheering on the hom etown favorites.
