T h e youth w ho p artici pate stay at Peters Pasture for the three-day camp. This year the camp theme is Nami Tw anat, or Follow ing O ur Traditional Ways. There is a $25 fee to at tend the camp b u t scholar ships are given. The scholar ship workshop is on August 7 from 10 a.m.-noon. There are scholarship requirements in two different age groups: Ages 8-13: Write a one- page essay on “Why you want to go to camp.” Ages 6 and 7: Draw a pic ture for submission in lieu o f essay. The addition of the turning lanes is finished, and the construction crews are now working just off the highway by the casino parking lot areas. Kids Day this Thursday at Jefferson Co. Fair The Jefferson County Fair is this W ednesday through Saturday, July 25-28. The ro deo is Friday and Saturday evening at 6, July 27-28. Thursday is kids day at the fair (see m ore below); and Friday is senior day. The fair parade is on Saturday at 10 a.m. The carnival offers $20 pre-sale on bracelets; $28 event sale. T h e C oncrete Cowboys play F rid ay an d S aturday nights. There is free admission to the fair. Tickets to the rodeo are $7 at the gate per person; ■ $6 pre-sale at the fair office. Kids 5 and under get in free to the rodeo.’ For the kids K id s D ay at th e fair, Thursday, July 26,'offers free activities for kids 0-8 years old, scheduled all day in the pavilion area. Although times may vary a little , th e y h av e b een planned so families can also enjoy the kids pedal tractor pull at 11 a.m., 1 and 4 p.m.; and the K-9 dog demonstra tion at 2. These events are also in the pavilion area. With so many activities, all young children will have a great time, so come join the fun under the pavilion. A uthor Jane K irkpatrick will be com ing “h om e” to m ake an appearance at the Warm Springs Library on Sat urday, August 18 at 11 a.m. She will tell stories o f read ing, writing and living. Come for laugher and a chance to have your books signed. Re freshments provided. Seating is limited. First come, first served. Crafters wanted at Crook Co. fa ir The Crook County Fair is seeking crafters and artisans with unique items to sell at the fair. The Crook County Fair, with the theme “Scare crows and Country Roads,” is August 8-11. Limited space is available. A $20 fee gets the crafter a 10x10 b o o th for the entire length o f the fair. This comes w ith electricity and water. Bring your own pop-up for shade.
