The Numu Team had their last community class for the Probationers on November 2nd and extend our appreciation to all of our par ticipants throughout this past year. We will probably not have another 8 week class until early spring of 2012 but are open to on-going requests. On another note, we have been going to the 7th period Madras High School (MHS) Cultural Enrichment class on Tuesdays and Thursdays and really feel like the students are dedicated and com m itted to learning Numu and although plans for the next semesters have not been finalized, we hope to continue working with the students / teachers. Finally we forsee the Warm Springs Interpre tive Center to be located at the Mt. Hood Ski Bowl East, opening as scheduled on December 2, 2011. T h e re all learning everyd ay th e re here and w e ask you to continue th e re know ledge and w ork w ith th e m a t hom e. The children have becom e adjusted well to th e daily routine o f class. Our Language Department sta ff have been involved in many areas of our Tribes Culture & Heritage and especially Language of all three tribes. Our department is the primary contact for the Tribes in working with Mr. Hanna and his Staff at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl. Continually, until the opening o f the Interpretive Center we will meet to how best to disply and provide infor mation to all visitors to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl during Ski Season. T h a t’s w hy it is law to all m erchants, S ta te Schools, S ta te and U.S. G overnm ent office will be closed to honor our m ilitary holiday. T h e y all p articip ate in th e activities o f learning th e re Ichishkiin Language and Social Song and Social Dance, th e y each have th e ir own W ingdress and Ribbon Shirts and Moccasins th e y w ea r during th e Song & Dance portion o f learning Then they will learn about the Qwalqwalla Lane Community College has also offered a show case in there College Campus Longhouse to display information of the Confederated Tribes. and in December we will learn about Christmas. To keep th e com m un ity and all in te re te d inform ed, w e have 9 tribal m em b er children enrolled in our immersion academ y: Justice Allen, Kathleen Danzuka, Skye Victorino, Tristan Mitchell, Stanley Simtustus, III, Sunhawk Kirk, Bryson Jim, Shwanshaki Aguilar, Maylene Smith A t the end of this week, our Department dirctor will travel to lane community college to begin the process of information to be displayed in this show case.
