This is a reminder for parents to keep a watchful eye on their children The parents always said; “to their childen if your naughty the basketwomen will come and get you.” Mt Hood Ski Bowl Staff and the Culture & Heritage Language Program staff met again to begin the process of get ting the “ Interpretive Center” ready with informaion of the Confederated Tribes. The Mt. hood ski bowl staff began by putting a new coat of paint on the interior of the room. Autni Ichishkiin Sapsikwat Possibilities presented to the group of what can be included as far as informa tion of the Tribes. Our class has now been in operation for just over a month, we have 8 tribal member stu dents. With the continuity of the words, phrases, simple commands, simple conversation the children are gaining daily understandings and knowledge of the language. This month our department owes a Wonderful thank you to John Brunoe of OSU Extension, he continually donates to the classroon for the children. Numu Ichishkiin Instuctors, Suzie and Dallas with students, Shwanshaki, Skye, Sunhawk, Tristan and Kathleen. He donated 12 pumpkins for the children and holiday docorations for the classroom and inflatable beach balls for the children, They also asked for descriptive words for plants and trees and brief explana tion of each, in all three languages of the Tribes. The language teachers have been doing there research of the list provided by Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Staff. There are existing descriptions, but Mt. Hood Ski Bowl Staff would like those listed and presented in the Lan guages of the Tribes. The next meeting of our two groups is scheduled to be at the Interpretive Center to visualize some of the layouts of information that will be displayed. The children enjoyed decorating their pump kins Also, the ladies of OSU Extension for the huck leberries and canned salmon for the children. Interpretive Center at Mt. Hood Ski Bowl will display information of the Confederated Tribes Every Thursday, the students learn Social Dance Songs and drumming, above Shwanshaki and Stanley put the drums away. Members of the Yakama Nation Tribes Tribal Pre School visited our Immersion Classroom, we provided a little bit of everything our teachers do. They were amazed with the social dance songs and danés our students learned.
