The 30-day public comment pe riod ends April 30, 2005. The EPA has prepared an ini tial draft Clean Air Act Title V per mit to operate for the Warm Springs Forest Products Industries (WSFPI) facility located at High way 26, Warm Springs, Oregon, Warm Springs Reservation. This permit also establishes conditions under which WSFPI can replace four existing boilers with one new boiler. The facility is owned by the Confederated Tribes of the Warm Springs Reservation of Or egon. WSl'Pl is a sawmill located in Jefferson County, Oregon. The facility produces green and kiln dried lumber. I logged fuel (waste wood and bark) purchased off site and produced on site is burned in boilers to produce steam to heat lumber drying kilns and to gener ate electricity in three steam-powered turbines. Including limits on emissions from the new and existing boilers al lows the boiler replacement project to avoid EPA's "Prevention of Sig nificant Deterioration Program" un der 40 CFR 52.21. The permit also contains owner-requested enforceable limits on hazardous air pollutant emissions (HAPs), thereby making WSFPI a minor source of HAPs and not subject to certain federal stan dards under 40 CFR Part 63.
