The kids seem to have an advantage digging roots in that they’re closer to the ground and can easily spot the root tops. DLB Photo Education Conference, "Indian W eek" Set and a modern dance Friday night. Two days, Thursday and Friday will be devoted to Indian Week at the high school. April 24 through April 28, the Madras High School is having its annual “Indian Week” at Mad ras. Activities include school as sembly, “WHALE”, teepee race, dinner banquet, powwow and many other activities. The third annual Oregon Indistn Education Conference has been set for April 27 through April 29 at Kah-Nee-Ta Resort. Registration will take place in the upper lobby Thursday from 9 to 10 a.m. Registration is $25.00 for adults and $15.00 for full-time students. Also on Thursday, all resolu tions from active members must be turned in. “Unity through communica tion with Indian Education” is the theme for this y ea r’s con ference which is sponsored by the Warm Springs Tribal Edu cation com m ittee and Oregon Indian Education Association. A few item s on the agenda include a workshop with Mike Giamettio, legislation workshop, Funeral Workshop Planned munity Center. All questions regarding prices of funerals and the im portance of funeral insurance will be answered in the two-hour presentation. All those planning to attend are urged to be prompt.
