I strikes. CIO Electrical Workers resumed mass picketing at the Sperry plant and two men were reported in jured. The snow is sponsored by the Salem Lions Club, with Fields Merck as general chairman. Merck said today that club esti mates of a total attendance of at least 15,000 still stands, and pre parations have been made accord ingly. Admission to the show and to the car parking area is free. Sev enty exhibits are in place. En trance to the grounds Is on 18th Street. Mayor Robert F. White will cut a ribbon to open the shoe at 7 p.m. Again Friday night the show will open at 7 and on Saturday at 1 p.m. A free specialty show by Portland talent is on the program each night with matinee Satur day. Hazel Small Dies After Sudden Illness Mrs. Hazel Small, resident of Salem for the past 10 years and a late resident of 425 South 21st street, died at a local hospital Tuesday night. Mrs. Small was taken to the hospital earlier in the day after suffering a heart attack at her home. Born at Houlton, Maine. July 24, 1894, she was married in that state May 6, 1917, to Waldo Small, who survives her. Ten years ago last December the Smalls came to Sa lem, where Small has since been a car salesman. Mrs. Smal was a member of the Methodist church in Maine. Hinsdale. 56. died at his home at Jefferson Wednesday with the funeral to be held at 2 p.m., Saturday at the Fisher Funeral home in Albany. Mr. Hinsdale was born in 1898 in Onawa, Iowa, and came to Oregon when a few months old and had lived in Roseburg, and Albany be fore going to Jefferson six years ago. He married Hazel Davis, Aug. 10, 1929 at Vancouver, Wash., who survives him as do two sisters, Opal Hartramps, Eugene and Lois Stesney, Salem; and three brothers, Vernon and Wendell Hinsdale, both of Portland, and George, Roseburg, and His parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Hinsdale, Cornelius. James E. Royce WOODBURN - James E. Royse, 89, died Tuesday, April 19 at a Woodburn nursing home where he had been for the past two weeks. He was born in Maysville, Ken., Dec. 27, 1865, and came to Oregon from Oklahoma about 10 years ago, making his home with a son, Eu gene Royse, at 880 Young St., Woodburn. He was a member of the Methodist church at Kingfisher, Okla. Survivors include two sons, Eu gene of Woodburn and James of Van Nuys, Calif.; one daughter, Betty Bixler, Schenectadv, N.
