Albrich, will become the bride of Grant Chipps of Yamhill, son of Mrs. Slys'a Chipps, also of Yamhill on Saturday, at St. Jo seph's church. The popular young Salem miss attended Sacred1 Heart academy and Marylhurst college for two years. The bridegroom elect is just out of the service, having been in the navy for two years. He is now attending Pacific university in Forest Grove. The couple will exchange their vows at a nuptial mass at 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning with Rev. T. J. Bernards officiating. Mrs. Johnson Heads Rebekahi Woodburn Mrs. Nettie John son was elected noble grand of Home Rebekah lodge No. 58 at the regular meeting Tuesday night. Mrs. Maude Klamp was elected vice grand, Mrs. Addie Doud was re-elected secretary, Mrs. Myrtle Hall was re-elected frfanrnr anH TWrs .Invrn TTnplp was elected financial secretary. Installation of officers will be held the first meeting in January at which time the ap pointive officers will be an nounced. Plans were made for the an nual Christmas party for mem bers and families and Odd Fel lows and families, to be held in December, the date to be an nounced later. Mrs. Dollie Cum mings was appointed chairman of the program committee, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Frentz will have charge of the treats and Gordon Luffman will secure the Christ mas tree. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Nina Ringo and Mrs. Fred Frentz. For the next meeting, December 3, a no-host lunch will be served after the meet ing. Pedee Of interest to their many friends is news of the wedding of Miss Kathleen Ris ley and Everett Gardner, who were married November 16 at Bay City, Ore. He formerly iff . - N ' a . Will Live In Salem Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Bannister, Jr. pic tured following their marriage in October at the First Christian church. She is the former Luella Owens, daughter of Mrs. Kath ryn Daniels of Salem. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Ban nister of Grants Pass. (Jesten-Miller studio.) Miss Skerfy to Wed in South Lebanon Mrs. Sylvia Sherfy is this week announcing the wedding plans of her daughter, Miss Louise Sherfy, whose mar riage to Vincent Callogy, son of Mrs. Anna Collogy of Bakers field, Calif., is to be an event of Dec. 7. The marriage will be solemnized at 8 o'clock in the morning at St. Francis church in Bauersfield. Miss Sherfy. a Lebanon high ! school graduate, was employed for more than three years in the local office of Dr. David Reid. and has for the past 18 months worked in the Pacific Gas and Electric offices in Bakersficld. Her fiance is a veteran of World War III. made his home with the W. T. Turners in Pedee before enter ing the army in which he serv ed with the 41st division. New Member Of Auxiliary Silverion Mrs. Arthur Got tenberg entertained for the Past Presidents' club of Delbert Reeves unit No. 7. American Legion auxiliary, Monday eve ning at her East Oak street home. Mrs. Pearl Davenport of Eu gene was present and had charge of the meeting in her first ses sion since election at the Octo ber meet held at the Lewis Hall Main street home. Assisting Mrs. Davenport was Mrs. John Demas, secretary-treasurer. Mrs. Thomas Wilson, recently come to Silverton from the mid dle west, was welcomed into the club. Mrs. Wilson is a past president from her home state. Mrs. Roscoe Reeves, Delbert Reeves unit No. 7 president of the American Legion auxiliary, who was taken into the club as an active member in October, was presented a shower of birth day gift.1- by her fellow mem-, Coi'vatlid and A goodly number of Salem ites will begin Friday afternoon, continuing until gametime Sat urday afternoon, as rooters for both Oregon and Oregon State head for Corvallis for the foot ball classic of the year. Adding to the excitement of the week end are the Homecoming plans for Oregon State. Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stevens and Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Davis of Portland will be among the rooters. Going down on Saturday, too, will be Mr. and Mrs. Roy H. Mills. And another group going down together are inveterate football fans, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drager, Mr. and Mrs Clayton Foreman, Mr. and Mrs. Loring Schmidt, Dr. and Mrs. Harold Olinger, Mr. and Mrs. Rex Adolph, Mr. and Mrs. Vern on Perry, Mr. and Mrs. Werner Brown, Mr. and Mrs. Chandler Brown, Dr. and Mrs. Ralph E. Purvine, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Herrall, Mr. and Mrs. James Walton and Dr. and Mrs. Arthur Fisher. In Corvallis for the game will be Mr. and Mrs. Breyman Boise, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Huggins, Mr. and Mrs. Asel Eoff and Mr. and Mrs. P. D. Quisenberry. Mr. and Mrs. John McCull ough and Mr. and Mrs. Robert DeArmond will be together and so will Mr. and Mrs. C. Lester Newman and Mr. and Mrs. Rich ard A. Meyer. The Newmans will visit their daughter, Marie Ann, and Meyers, their daugh ter, Roberta. Mr. and Mrs. Wal ter Kirk and Mr. and Mrs. Ron ald Jones will be present for the game as well. Mr. and Mrs. George Scales, Mr. and Mrs. Wheeler R. Eng lish and Arthur Upston will motor over on Saturday for the annual event. Lebanon Plans For BPW Club Lebanon Plans are being launched this week to form a local unit of Business and Pro fessional Women's clubs. The meeting designed to acquaint prospective members with the aims of the club, will be held Friday at 8 o'clock at the home of Mrs. D. F. Holmes, 12 Eaton street. The state president and the state membership chairman will be present to outline aims and organization details. All busi ness and professional women of this area are invited to attend the initial session. Lark Club Is Entertained Falls City The Lark club was entertained at the country home of Mrs. Emma Frink re cently. A no-host dinner was served at noon. A short business meeting was led by the presi dent, Mrs. Christine Lehnert. Present were Mrs. Christine Lehnert, Mrs. Shirley Dickin son, Mrs. Lillian Kitchin, Mrs. Neva Poland, Mrs. Ora Wilson, Mrs. Eva Powers and daugh ter, Mrs. Jessie Jones, Mrs. Ethel Teal, Mrs. Jessie- Moyer, Mrs. Emma Frink, Mrs. Faye Frink. Guests were Mrs. Barnett and Mrs. Mae Smith. bers. Fifteen members were present. Mrs. T P. Heidenstrom and Mrs. John Demas will serve as co-hostesses at the Heidenstrom home the evening of the third Monday in January. The group voted to have two members entertain at each meet ing as the number has increased. The couple exchanged their vows in Spokane October 29, with the bride's aunt, Mrs. Ha zel Eakley, present. The bride groom is the eldest grandson of Mrs. Mollic Lacey and is a vet eran of World War II.
