Salem Pair in Eugene Rites From Eugene comes news of the marriage of Miss Mamie Wilkmsen, daughter of Mr. and ; Mrs. P. L. Wilkmsen of Gervais. and Basil G. Tucker, son of Mrs. Alice Tucker of Salem. The couple was married Sun day in the Baptist church par sonage in Eugene. Officiating minister was Mrs. R. W. Webs ter for the 2:30 o'clock after noon ceremonies. Attendants were the brother-in-law and sister of the bride groom, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace Parmelee of Eugene. For her nuptials, the bride wore a cedar V shaded suit with brown acces t sories and a corsage of red roses Vand gardenias. A wedding supper was held at the Parmalee home for the couple and close friends fol lowing the ceremony. After a wedding trip at the Oregon beaches, they will make their home in Salem. Friday night the freshmen gave a dance at the MU. Jack Slater was chairman of the dance which had the theme Komic Kapers . . . Saturday night was filled with house dances . . . at the Kappa formal the ortna id. ea theme was "Grecian Gardens" . . . looking like a Grecian god dess was Joan Beakey in a lus cious white formal trimmed in gold . . Mary Lou McKay's escort was from Pendleton . . . Betty Manolis looked cute as us ual in a pink plaid formal . . . she was escorted by Dutch Sim mons Dick Galesdorf and Phyl lis McGregor were a good-looking couple . . . Pete's formal was light blue trimmed in dark blue velvet . . . also In blue was Mary Reiman escorted by hand some Fhi Delt pledge Beb Thompson . . . "Winkem, Blinkem, and Nod" was the dreamy' theme of the Tri Delt formal. Jane Acton looked stunning in a black chif fon dress as she danced by with Bob Macy . . . Cleta Crabtree and her fiance were down from Stayton for the dance . . . The ATO's caused quite an uproar Saturday night at their Indian dance . . . Everyone who went dressed in Indian costumes and put leg make-up all over themselves. Before picking up their squaws at one house, the warriors built a fire on the front sidewalk and did a dance around it. Sparkling horseshoes prevail ed at the Chi Omega dance. The rooms were all decorated in black with silver, sparkling horseshoes of different sizes on the wal's . . . Corrine Wade, Avis Steimer, and Barbara Mc Donald were seen admiring the large horseshoe over the en trance to the dance. Looking smart in black dresses were Mary Ana Bollingher and Pat Viesko who were escorted by Travis Cross and Bill Carmody . . . Alsj there were June Young and Ralph Underwood, Evange line McKinlay and Bill Egan . . . "Sophistication in Black and Gold" was the theme of the Theta pledge formal. The main attraction of the dance was the dining room which was deco rated with three huge phosphor escent murals . . . Pat Sears was in Corvallis for the dance . . . Oregon Staters are busy mak ing plans for the big Homecom ing next week-end . . . High light of the week-end will be the traditional Oregon-Oregon State football game, and we are looking forward to seeing many alums. CD A Initiates New Members Court Capital City, Catholic Daughters of America, held the fall reception for new mem bers at the Woman's club on Tuesday evening. The Court degree team headed by Miss Loraine Meuscy con ducted the initiation ceremonies. The Rev. George O Keefe was the principal speaker of the eve ning. The address of welcome was extended by the grand re gent, Mrs. H L. Holboke, and Mrs. A. J. Schroeder sang the "Ave Maria. After tne initiation tea was served in the dining room with Mrs. E. A. Collins of San Francisco was honored Wednesday afternoon when Mrs. Stewart Johnson entertained with an informal tea at her home on North Summer street Mrs. Collins and her daughter. Robin Lee, are guests at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry V. Collins, this week, They will return home Sunday by plane. About 16 of the honor guest's close friends were invited to call at 4 o'clock. Pouring was Mrs. Ralph E. Purvine and as sisting were Mrs. Robert Need ham and Mrs. James Walton. Centering the tea table was a bronze and chrystal epergne filled with heather and fall grains with an arrangement of fruit in the lower bowl. Tapers in bronze candelabra guarded the centerpiece. Eastern Star Honors Guests Salem chapter, Order of East ern Star, will hold a no-host dinner at 6:30 o'clock Saturday evening at the Masonic temple. The chapter will furnish the meat and dessert. He was born at Salem General hospital.
