States which have a large number of hos pitalized veterans compared to their auxiliary membersNu receive help from the national organization. The gifts have an average value of one dollar, and are selected, as far as possible, to meet the individ ual needs and desires of the veter ans. Where practical, they are pre sented to the disabled men by aux iliary members visiting the hospitals. In "many of the hospitals, Christmas trees are decorated and Christmas parties and entertainments given. In addition to the work for the men in the hospitals, the auxiliary contacts the needy families of these men and supplies Christmas food and gifts. At a number of hospitals arrangements have been made for the disabled veterans to select gifts for their children, and these are sent In the name of the veteran.
