Willson, a dentist ot El gin, Or., who was convicted In the lower court for Union county on a charge ot manslaughter, In con nection with an Illegal operation on a young woman who was In a delicate condition due to her al leged relations with him, is giv en his liberty by an opinion of the supreme court today, reversing the verdict In Judge J. W. Knowlea' court. The opinion was writtoa by Justice Burnett. Willson was sentenced by the lower court to serve two years in the penlteutlary and pay a line ol $500. The opinion of the supreme court hinges on failure of proof that an embryo child was actual ly killed by the operation per formed upon the woman by the dentist. The supremo court, In an opin ion by Justice Hand, affirmed Judge T. E. J. Duffy of the lower court for Deschutes county In the caae of the state against Ace Dobson, who was convicted In the Justice and circuit courts of sell ing intoxicating liquor. The main contention ot the defendant was that the complaint charged that the defendant "did then and there sell Intoxicating liquor etc., without there having been Inserted before the word 'sell' the word unlawfully.' BERTHA SCHREIBER ESTATE ESTIMATED VALUE $35,000 The estate of Bertha Schrelber, which has been admitted to pro bate, places an estimated value of $35,000 on the property of the tate, all personal, and the bulk of it goes to nor two sons, Andrew and Otto Klett, both well known residents of Salem. Under the terms of the will An drew Klett, the older brother, is made executor ot the estate. The will leaves $4000 in cash to Bar bara Marshall, of Alsace-Lorraine, Prance, a Bister-in-law of Mrs, STAYTON OIL AGENCY PLACED UNDER SALEM Stayton, Or., Deo. 15. Several changes have been made recently In the personnel of the Standard Oil company here. Stayton no longer has a epccinl agent, as the station has been made subsidiary to Salem, while Sdo, formerly a branch of the local station, has been made subsidiary to Albany. William Swift of McMInnvllle has replaced Mr. Scott on one of the Standard Oil trucks. Schreiber, and $1000 in cash to Lewis Scnreiber, a nephew, also oi Alsace-Lorraine, France.
