The reason given for this Is that the 350 tons of straw retted during the Btimmer of 11)25, mostly from the 1924 crop, was consider ably damaged from over-retting. A considerable portion of It wan too short to be used for other than tow purposes. The large percentage that goes into the making of spinning tow .Will he worth from 10 to 20 cents V, pound ineiead of from 10 to 33 cents that would come from the long fibre variety. "The plant now has on hand' aye tho governor's statement, "1400 tons of long straw which Will be made into long fibre. At tho present time careful experi ments are being made In artlfical ly drying the strnw after retting.
