Nunn of this city came forward Saturday afternoon and stated positively that he Intends to carry his warfare against the char arter of May dances held on the Willamette campus May g to the last ditch and last costume. "1 wish to assume full respon slblllty for tho originating and circulating of this petition." he said, "further. I wish to say that none of my fnmily was aware of my action In this matter." Mr. Nunn refused to state when and where he had witnessed his last May day festival, but admitted that the dances of this year' were the first Willamette May dances he had ever witnessed. When ask ed whether or not anyone had yet refused to sign his petition, he re lied. "There are always some people who don't align themselves on the side of the best things." He Inti mated that he will announce a list of signers of the petition at some future date. "But not now." ne said. " I want to see some more people first." Contrary to previous report that had got Into circulation last week. tho petition itself says nothing about costumes worn by Willamette track men. Mr. Nunn denies that he has ever said anything that could be construed as opposition to the costumes. The petition rends as follows: "To the honorable board of trus tees and faculty of Willamette uni versity, Salem, Oregon, Sirs: 'We, the undersigned patrons and friends of the Willamette university respectfully protest against the repltition of exercise In such a msnner as those recent ly held on the Willamette univer sity campus during the May day exercises.
