The Salem Senators are still leading the Interstate league by virtue of their victory over the fast Hillsbo.-o nine on the Oxford ' park grounds yesterday afternoon by s score of 4 to 1. The game was filled with crabbing at the umpire on both sides. The Hille boro nine threatened to proteet the game In the fifth Inning when one man fouled out to Keene. Bark- holder, next man at bat for the visitors was hit uy a pitched ball and went to first but Hauser call ed him back as he tailed to get nut of the way. Barkholder did lean back but leaned Into the ball. After -much discussion which threatened to turn into a battle royal the game was continued. Br.rkliolder then proceeded to fly out to Bouton. The field wae still rather soggy from the rains the last two days and several errors were made. Neither side was able to make a count until the fourth frame. Both made all of their runs in that in ning. Hutt, first man at bat went out. Maples to Keene. Krells got a single. Myers got a hit anil sent Kreitz to second. C. Hender son was safe on Maples error and Kreitz went to tnird. Cole hit a nice sacrifice fly to Steers and Kreitz crowded the flatter with the liret run of the game. R. John son walked but O. Henderson went out, Muplc3 to Keene. Score in Fourth. In their half of the fourth the locals gathered their four runs when eight men went to bat. Ban- was issued a pass to first. Ed wards crabbed at a couple of high ones which riauser called strikes but proceeded to get the first hit of the season at home when he placed it between second and first sending Barr to second. Gould went into run for Edwards. Ash by sent a nice bounder to Myers for a sacrifice and advanced the two runners. Bquton sent a sac rifice fly to left field and Barr dented the rubber to tie the game at one-all. Gould was held at second. Proctor got a Texas leaguer into right Held after send ing the ball milee over the left field fence for a foul by a few Inches, and Gould scored. Colo man was 8afo on C. Henderson's error. The Luckenbach team defeated the Vancouver nine at Vancouver, 7 to 4, for the cellar champion ship of the Interstate league. Luckenbach made four bits and four runs In the first Inning but Sebree recovered and held them scoreless until the fourth, when he was retired In favor of Tray- nor. Vancouver evened the score in the fourth and took the lead in the sixth when they aeored one run. Luckenbach retaliated In their half of the sixth and scored three runs. In ths last of the ninth King, of the Vancouver club, rapped the pill for three bases, but the next three men were struck out and he died at third. Score R, H. E. SALEM DEFEATS "CORVALLIS 14D The Corvallls high school base ball nine took a terrible drubbing at the bands of the red and black nine on the Oxford diamond Satur day afternon when the locals de feated them by a score of 14 to 0 in six innings.
