After this Informal expedition the prince, fulfilling a scheduled program, was ceremoniously in stalled chancellor of the Univers ity ot Capetown, a titular position he has occupied since the Inaug uration of the university In 191S. Although the prince danced late last night with his untiring energy, he was out early this morning and ran into a parade and demonstration of university students, Including hundreds of girls, outside a government house. The parade was led by a body of comic cavalry, armed with brooms, followed by an old fash ioned prairie schooner drawn by 12 oxen. The cheering students were singing a special song with the chous, "Oh Edward, now you're south In the land ot drought, don't be down in the mouth." The prince, greatly amused, entered Into the spirit of the demonstration, mounted an ox wabon alone, flicking the oxen with the whip and led the pro cession through the city. The students sang and cheer ed unceasingly and the prince seemed to be quite In his element. The procession ended at the city hall, where the prince was formally Installed chancellor of the university. However, the festive spirit could not be entirely subdued and some "ragging" Interrupted the ceremonies. At one point a white hen wearing the universi ty colors was shooed upon the stage by students.
