At Wootlburn It will be a dajr and evening of frolic, added to exhibits, a school fair And a number of special events. Thie afternoon and tonight a school fair is being staged with a show ing of the work of the pupils ami a sale of confections made by the pupils. During the day a field meet is being staged and this af ternoon at 2:30 the north Marlon county declamatory contest starts. May day exercises are scheduled for 6:30 on the high school lawn. At ML Angel club exhibits In the schools are being put on with a particularly fine exhibit from the Mt. Angel sewing club, the largest in the state. The club has 63 members and will finish Its work 100 per cent. At Marion an achievement day is being celebrated with exhibits of school and club work. At Sublimity the public school la putting on a parents' day to fihow the work of the boys and girls, both in their clubs and In their general school work. Tonight Gervals union high school will stake a style show In charge of Mies Becker, teacher !n the home economics department. At Eldrldge school a club ex hibit and program will be put on tonight. PITTSBURGH TO SPEND 14 MILLION DOLLARS Pittsburgh A $14,000,000 pro ject thit will mean the straighten ing of a street, widening of several others, an addition to a railroad pa&aengcr terminal, the wrecking of a freight house, enlargement of a tunnel and other miscellaneous Items. U expected to start in Pitts burgh April 1. These tasks are included In the Pennsylvania railroad's plan for the Improvement of lis passenger terminal tscsities. aad. IN MARITIME ACTIVITIES Duluth, Minn.
