The Willamette Valley Irrlrat. ed Land company and the Snntl- am Development company were represented yesterday bv A. R Lamm and F. K. Masters. They mm ciaim to me undeveloped portions of tha project and said they wanted to go ahead with the development. They showed contracts by which tha settlers would pay $50 an acre for the water rights and ,2.50 annual maintenance, first payment to be made when water Is available on the land. The settlers would give nret mortgage on tha land as se curity. Their objection to a per mit being granted Porter and his associates is that it will let down the bars to other applicants and disintegrate the project. Percy A. Cupper, former stats engineer, and who represented the Portland men as attorney yesterday, claim ed the policy would upset the whole Oregon - Irrigation scheme and prevent Investors coming In to the state to put their money into irrigation projects.
