Monroe Salisbury, star of "Hugan, the Mighty," "That Devil, Batiste," "The Guilt of Silence," "The Red, Red Heart," and other Bluebird plays comts to the Gnftid theater in a brand new feature production, "The I Light of Victory'. " based on the magazine story by George Hull. "Light of Victory" is a patri otic melo-drama of thex present war. but is without battle scenes. It is the story of an American naval of ficer who renounced his country and the activities of the German subma rines in the Pacific. . Salisbury is seen as Lieutenant George Benton, U. S. .N., who because of oyer fondness for the cup that cheers betrays the confidence of his country at a critical moment, is left on a desert ' Isle in disgrace and comes . to curse the United States, but who rallies in the hour of crucial need and saves a United States bat tleship from destruction at the hands of a U-boat. Salisbury has us bis lending wom an, Betty Compson, .of Lyons and Moran comedies, and rathe fume, and Is supported by a cast Including Andrew Robson, Fred Kclsey, Fred Wilson, Bob Edmonds, and Beatrice Dominguez. Alice Brady will be seen Thursday only In "Rosetta," a very pretty and well acted drama. Moran and Lyons will also be seen in one of their ripping comedies.
