The project includes a 40 acre parcel located in Township 5S, Range 33E, Sect. 21 managed by the Bureau of Land Management, Baker City Field Office. The purpose of this project is to reduce the fuel loadings within a quarter mile of identified values at risk (private inholdings or structures) to decrease flame lengths to less than four feet. Within one and a half mile of the identified values at risk the goal is to reduce the potential for crown fire and lofting firebrands into the area being protected. Issues, concerns, and potential effects of no action and the proposed action were analyzed in the Willoughby EA. The EA provides additional information about the analysis area, the pro- posed action, potential issues considered, and environmental consequences of proposed activities.
