Youth Classes free! FREE FOR ALL! (UP TO AGE 12 OR SO) – a FREE drop-in class! EVERY SATURDAY, 9:30-10:15 AM Stop in for a fun, free Saturday morning art project with one of our creative and enthusiastic staff members. Pop your head in or stay for the whole session! Projects are often inspired by the exhibits in the East Oregonian Gallery, allowing for engage- ment with a range of art forms. Kids under 8 must be accompanied by a parent or older pal to help them with the project. ART STUDIO (AGES 0-12) – a FREE drop-in class! EVERY MONDAY, 4:00-5:30PM FALL TERM RUNS SEPT. 25 – DEC. 11 low cost PAINTING LARGE (AGES 7-12) – a drop-in offering ERICA EDWARDS, INSTRUCTOR 12:15 – 2:00PM EVERY SATURDAY IN OCTOBER, OCT. 7 – OCT. 28 $10 PER SESSION GUITAR (AGES 8-12) MIKE KELLISON, INSTRUCTOR MONDAYS, 5:15 - 6:00PM SEPT. 25 – NOV. 27 (10 SESSIONS) $70 MEMBERS / $75 NON-MEMBERS + $5 MATERIALS Drop in to help create a collaborative painting that will live at the Arts Center! In this ongoing class students will learn how to “scale up” their drawings and then transfer them onto a semi-permanent mural on the PCA’s grounds to show off to friends and the community. The mural will change every week as we add on more images- students are invited to join as often as they like. A solid introduction to guitar covering chords, rhythm and music reading, as well as care of the instrument itself. This class will provide the foundation for students to go on to play all styles of music from rock to classical to folk, and Mike will incorporate these styles as students progress. Students who already have experience playing will improve on their skills by taking on lead guitar parts in the group. VIOLIN/FIDDLE: LEVEL 1 (AGES 5-12)* PEG WILLIS, INSTRUCTOR Kids of all ages now have full access to the PCA’s art materials and studio space! In- spire your kids to explore art independently through open-ended drawing, painting and collage, or to try out a new technique by working along with the group on a facilitated project (we’ll have a fun, optional project going on each time). The emphasis is on creative expression and play through art making, and kids are welcome to drop in for 15 minutes, or stay for the full session. Parents can participate too! (Children 8 and under must have a parent or guardian present.) NO SCHOOL MAKE-AND-TAKE CRAFTS (AGES 8 AND UP) – a FREE drop-in class! 10:30AM – NOON ON THE DATES LISTED BELOW OCT 13 (FRIDAY): Something Spooky with Kate Peck NOV. 10 (FRIDAY): Fall is Here! with Kate Peck Out of school with nothing to do? Drop into a make-and-take workshop at the Arts Cen- ter! We’ll make pinch pots, slab constructed boxes, and free-form sculpture, keeping in mind that the gift-giving season is just around the cor- ner. Students will work in wet clay on Nov. 4th and 11th, and Nov. 18th will be reserved for glazing. During class, Peg will provide infor- mation for students and parents about daily fiddle practice.
