SUNDAY 12:28 p.m. - Police looked for but did not ind a man after a woman at Wildwood RV Park, 82280 Wildwood Lane, Umatilla, called 9-1-1 and said she was outside when a male came up to her and asked her questions about her personal life. 12:31 a.m. - A caller reported a man was assaulting a woman at the Boardman Marina, 1 Marine Drive N.W., Boardman. 7:47 a.m. - A Hermiston man reported a “black mutt” tried to attack him at Southwest 10th Street and West Highland Avenue. 9:56 a.m. - A Weston property owner reported a burglary in progress on North Water Street. 10:40 a.m. - A Weston man reported he was in the hospital and gave a key to a person named “Kelly” to take care of his dog. Kelly, though, instead took his TV, video game system and games. 1:36 p.m. - A Pendleton mother reported her daughter was the victim of harassment and bullying at the Rudy Rada Skatepark, 101 Northgate, Pendleton. ARRESTS, CITATIONS Friday •Pendleton police arrested Jesse Francisco Martinez, 20, of 30097 White Lane, Hermiston, for driving under the inluence of intoxicants and two counts of reckless endangering. •Hermiston police arrested Marcus Allen Nelson, 32, of 510 W. Moore Ave., Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and second-degree theft. •Oregon State Police arrested a drunk driver after he came close to causing several crashes on Court Avenue, Pendleton. State police reported a trooper at 11:45 p.m. responded to an agency request to help catch the driver. Trooper Darin Wong entered Interstate 84 going east right behind the dark blue Chevrolet pickup in question and saw it failed — several times — to stay in a lane. Wong stopped the pickup near milepost 215, asked the driver to take a sobriety test, and he failed. Sunday •Hermiston police arrested Joe Nathan Merritt, 32, of Stanield, for trespass, third-degree mischief, second-degree burglary and second-degree theft. •Hermiston police cited Eduardo Leal, 20, no address provided, for duii (alcohol) •Hermiston police arrested Joseph Clarence Day, 43, of Hermiston, for possession of methamphetamine and on warrants for failure to appear. •An Oregon State Police stopped a speeding Ford Explorer at 2:10 p.m. and ended up inding evidence of methamphetamine. The trooper arrested driver Elizabeth Ann McCallister, 36, and passenger Alexandria Greek, 28, for possession of meth. •A Boardman man who skipped court on an intoxicated driving charge ended up in jail for driving drunk. An Oregon State Police trooper at 7:22 p.m. stopped a black Ford F150 pickup for speeding (going more than 21 mph over the 70 mph limit) eastbound on Interstate 84 near milepost 181. The driver, Fernando Medina-Medrano, 36, of Boardman, had a warrant for his arrest for failing to appear in court on a charge of driving under the inluence of intoxicants. Trooper Sean Carothers had Medrano undergo a sobriety test, and he showed signs impairment. Carothers arrested Medrano on the warrant and the new duii charge and cited him for driving uninsured and speeding. Medrano, at the Umatilla County Jail, Pendleton, provided a breath test that showed his blood-alcohol level was .1 percent, which is more than the .08 percent legal limit. AFTERNOON Pendleton student recognized by USciences PHILADELPHIA — Evangelina Olivera of Pendleton, a pharmaceutical sciences student in Philadelphia College of Pharmacy at University of the Sciences, took part in a special recognition ceremony for the Pharmacology/Toxicology and Pharmaceutical Sciences programs on Friday, Sept. 30, 2016. In addition to donning a white lab coat, Olivera was among the students who also received a pin to reinforce their commit- ment to their chosen ield of study. The BS program in pharmacology/toxicology trains students to understand the interactions of drugs and other chemicals with living systems, while the BS program in phar- maceutical sciences trains students to develop novel methods to deliver drugs to the body and analyze the effectiveness of these drug delivery systems. Students in both programs are well prepared for their careers in industry, academia, and government or go on for advanced degrees. University of the Sciences has prepared students to be leaders and practitioners in the healthcare and science ields for nearly 200 years. 6 STATION (25) HONORS Tuesday, October 11, 2016 Tuesday Morning PBS ABC NBC CBS FOX SATURDAY 5:22 a.m. - A caller told dispatchers he wanted a member of the Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice to stop stalking him. 8:01 a.m. - A property owner on Southwest Lake Drive, Pendleton, reported someone destroyed the entrance gate to his shop and ield. 12:11 p.m. - Pendleton police received an emergency call about a man using racial slurs at the laundromat and cleaners at 1810 S.W. Emigrant Ave., Pendleton. 2:28 p.m. - A member of a Neighborhood Watch reported a male was trying to break into a vacant trailer on Grant Road, Milton-Freewater. 3:32 p.m. - A caller reported possible game poaching after seeing a green Ford Explorer pulling a trailer containing two dead elk westbound on Interstate 84 near Echo. Law enforcement did not ind the vehicle. 5 p.m. - Stanield police received a call about a burglary that happened moments before at a home on North Wayne Street. 10:19 p.m. - People reported seeing three clowns near the tennis courts at Community Park, 1200 S.W. 44th St., Pendleton, and one may have had a hammer. The clowns got into a four-door silver van or car and left. Police did not ind the clowns 10:41 p.m. - Pendleton police received a report of a second clown sighting. A witness said the clown wore polka dot clothing and a mask with red hair and was sitting in a chair at the corner of Southwest Fourth Street and Dorion Avenue. When she stopped at the light, she told police, the clown ran at her car and may have had a knife, so she ran the red light to get away. Police talked to her 15 minutes later, and she said the clown was sitting behind a residence across from the Travelodge, 411 S.W. Dorion Ave. Again, police did not ind any clowns. 3:04 p.m. - Hermiston police received a report that a resident of Guardian Angel Homes, 540 N.W. 12th St., Hermiston, was missing $500-$600. 4:27 p.m. Burglars hit a residence on Mill Creek Road near Milton-Freewater and left with a rile. 6:26 p.m. - Hermiston police received a call that three clowns were near Eastside Market, 582 E. Main St., and running toward Highway 395. Once more, police did not ind any clowns. 7:41 p.m. - Hermiston police received another report of a clown sighting, this time second-hand. The caller claimed the clown was on the road at Armand Larive Middle School, 1497 S.W. Ninth St., and trying to scare people. 10:42 p.m. - Guess what? Yep, another clown sighting. A caller on the 500 block of Willamette Avenue, Umatilla, reported a Caucasian male dressed all in black with white paint on his face hit him with a water balloon through the window of his vehicle. And police did not ind the clown. 10:45 p.m. - Pendleton police received a call about a male with a lashlight trying to break into vehicles at Southwest First Street and Emigrant Avenue. PBS ABC NBC CBS FOX FRIDAY 9:22 a.m. - An employee of Steve’s Assured Security Storage, 80886 Highway 395, Hermiston, reported surveillance video shows a male and maybe a female tried to drill through a lock on a storage unit. 10:30 a.m. - The Morrow County Sheriff’s Ofice investigated an incident for harassment after a caller in Irrigon on Washington Lane reported a driver struck him with the front of a vehicle. The caller was transported to Good Shepherd Medical Center, Hermiston. 11:21 a.m. - A caller reported someone cut the fuel line of a vehicle at Horizon Project Inc., 608 N. Russell St., Milton-Freewater. 12:05 p.m. A 9-1-1 caller in Pendleton reported he needed emergency mental health help, then hung up. He called back and said he was ine but “may have smoked too much of something.” He said he would ask family to give him a ride, did not need an oficer or an ambulance and would “chill out and relax.” 1:13 p.m. - People in a recreational vehicle in Pendleton ran an extension cord across the sidewalk, the road and into a house on Southeast Seventh Street. 1:24 p.m. - A man remodeling a home outside Milton-Freewater reported someone broke in and stole a miter saw, an air compressor and other tools. 2:15 p.m. - The manager at Pilot Travel Center, 2115 S. Highway 395, Stanield, reported a semi driver pulled a gun on another driver at the fuel island, then left. 6:11 p.m. - Pendleton police received an emergency report of a dangerous dog at Wal-Mart, 2203 S.W. Court Ave. 6:30 p.m. - A Pendleton mother reported her daughter stole her 2004 Ford Bronco. 9:56 p.m. - A caller reported the theft of a computer, GoPro camera and hard drives from his 2001 Dodge pickup he parked outside Solid Base Jiu-Jitsu, 343 S.
