Paramedics will perform a variety of duties in response to calls for emergency and non-emergency medical services; participate in medical education, disaster preparedness, and training activities. They also perform fire station and equipment maintenance and other related assignments. These positions are full time positions assigned to a 24/48 hour work schedule. Salary ranges from $3,479 – $4,547/month. High school diploma or GED equivalent required (Associ- ate Degree in Paramedicine preferred); and at least one year of emergency medical response experience. Also, must possess a valid EMT-Paramedic certificate (if not an Oregon certificate, must meet requirements for Oregon reciprocity) and possess, or be able to obtain within the first year, a valid Advanced Cardiac Life Support and Pediatric Advanced Cardiac Life Support certificate. Must be able to pass the departmentʼs security clearance standards including review of criminal history and driving record.
