which the officials allege was en
deavoring to "steal time" on the pas
senger by making the Young's Point

Mrs. Bert Anderson of Hardin,
Mont., who was compelled on account
of the crowded condition of the train
to ride in the smoker went Into the
sleeper to wash for breakfast, and a
moment later her husband was In
stantly killed in the collision,
i Frank E. Slivers of Seattle had a
remarkable escape from death. At
the moment of the crash he was slt
ting In a double seat with three men,
all of whom were killed. The wreck
age plied up around him, and it was
with difficulty he was dug out.

is a roadway made of sagebrush, nnd

runs from Pasco to Richland up the
east bank of the Columbia, crossing
