I tried all kinds of mudicinra I heard of, but found no rliif. I was truly in .a frightful condition. At lost my blood was so bad that I broke out all over with red and white boils, which kept growing until they wore as big as wal nuts, cauxing great pain and nuitery. I thought they would take the skin off my whole Ixxly, but I kept from scratch ing as well as I could. I was so run down that I could hardly do my work. Mr. Nelson It. Hurnett recommended the use of Cuticura ltemexlies. telling me he was confident they would benefit and, in time, cure me. I used the Cuti cura Soap, Ointment, Reeolvent, and Pills for about eight months, and I can truthfully say I am cured. I cordially recommend Cuticura Itemedies to all who are alllicted the same as I was, be lieving that, if they will use them according to directions, they will find them all they are represented to be. Any one doubting the truth of the above can write to Mr. Hurnett. who will cheer fully vouch for my statements. "Hale Bordwell, R. F. D. 3. Cedar Corners. Tipton, la., Aug. 17. 1907." "I cheerfully endorse the above tes timonial. It is the truth. I know Mr. Bordwell and know the condition he was in. He never tires of praising the Cuticura Hemedies. "Nelson It. When within a mile of his home In the Horse Heaven country, after hav ing driven with his wife and eight- yeur-old grandson from Kennewlck lust Friday night, Captain Jam.es Nevens met with a serious accident which may cost him his life and de prlve the community of one of Its most highly respected citizens, says the Kennewlck Reporter. In the darkness tho horses strayed from the road and went over an era bankment, became frightened and ran away throwing the occupants of tho rig out onto the hard ground. Mrs. Nevens and young grandson es caped uninjured with the exception of a severe shaking up, but the aged captain had the bone of hie right leg fractured and his shoulder fright fully crushed. When Mrs. Nevens discovered the serious condition of her husband she walked three miles through the dark ness to the nearest house, arriving al most exhausted at the home of L. H. Edward. Lanterns were Immediately procured and the men hastened to the srenc of the accident. The injured man was suffering so severely that It was Impossible to move him. Fires were built and the captain cared for as well as possible while a messen ger was dispatched on horseback for Kennewlck. Farmer Rulld Plione Line. This afternoon practically every rancher In the Finley district is at work helping extend the telephone line to the railroad station In prep aration of the marketing of the strawberry crop which will be started within the next 10 days. Madras Pioneer. Carleton H. Hutchinson, a leading banker end broker or Boston, with Offices at 8 Congress Street, In that city, has recently come out with a very strong statement. In the widespread discussion over Cooper's new theory and medicines which hag spread over the country so rapidly, Mr. Hutchinson has taken the side of those who say that Cooper s theory is correct and bis medicine all that be claims. Mr. Hutchinson's 'mphatlc state ment Is as follows: "Anyon. afflicted with chronic 111 health and a general run-down condition caused by stomach trouble, who does not try this man Cooper's medicine, Is very foolish. I say this after a most remarkable ex perience with the medicine. "I beard of Cooper's success first when be was In Chicago, as I have a private wire to that city in connection with my business. Later, when be came East, I learned more of him and bis theory that stomach trouble causes most ill health. I have bad no faith in anything not prescribed by a phy sician for each particular case after careful diagnosis, but after eight years of constant suffering, during which time I spent over $1,500 with abso lutely no relief, I felt that it would at least do no harm to try the medicine which I was bearing so much about "During these eight years I have been forced to go without solid food for five and six weeks at a time. I always had a sour stomach, was troubled with formation of gas, and led the usual miserable life of the dys peptic. I was dull, tired, nervous and gloomy all the time, and was always constipated. "I have taken Cooper's medicine a comparatively short time. For the past month I bave not bad the slight est sign ot stomach trouble. I can eat anything with no bad effect whatso ever. I bave a fine appetite, am gain ing flesh very rapidly, am cheerful, full of energy, and my nervousness has disappeared. My bowels are in perfect condition for the first time In eight years. "I don't hesitate to say that I would not take $50,000 and be back where I was. My relief and thankfulness la beyond description." (Miiidltlvc Examinations Now On , What It Consist)) Of. Washington, April 28. Competitive examinations for appointment to cadetHhlps in the line of revenue cut ter service commenced yesterday in several cities before boards of offi cers convened for that purpose. The examinations will occupy about four days. An unusually large number of acancles exist in the service and an effort will be made to fill all of them. The revenue cutter service is a branch of the military force of the government, attached to the treasury department, cooperating with the navy department whenever the presi dent so directs, 'and its officers hold rank with the same pay and allow ances that officers of corresponding grades in the army receive. In time of peace the functions of the service extend to the enforcement of almost every statute bearing upon the maritime Interests of the nation and a revenue cutter shall perform any duty or muke any cruise that the president may direct. Its officers, as Inspectors drill the crews of the life saving service and keep them In a high state of effi ciency. The coasts are continually being patrolled by cutters, designated by the president to cruise and give suc cor to vessels In distress; also to de stroy all derelicts found at sea by mining and blowing them up, thus ridding the oceans of these pests of the seas. While performing these various du ties each commanding officer must keep his ship In a state of prepared ness for war, and to that end con stant, drills are carried out on board every ship in commission and the gun crews are Instructed how to shoot to hit. The vessels are frequently mobil ized for fleet tactics and to land their sailors for Infantry, artillery and oth er drills. HERE'S THE PROOF. The New Pure Food and Drag Law.
