Mr. Estes denies the report that h has become engaged In the second hand business at Hermlston, or at any other point. He says thut within a short time he will take up the" matter of diminishing the number of trout in the creeks of this county and will also assist In boosting the Pendleton baseball team. Seeing in your valuable pa per an article from A. H. Sunderman using my name. I think it no more than fair thnt I should answer the same. Would say that the office of coun ty commissioner has not been sought by me, but by my friends for me. In regard to the letters sent out. They were unsolicited. My friends very much desiring representation on the board of commissioners, linve asked me to allow my name to be used ns n candidate from tho western portion of the county. I nm the only candidate for the of fice west of Pendloon. My home Is In the vicinity of Echo. A. H. Sun derman Is a resident of Pendleton. My people are only asking a fair thing that the west part of the coun ty be represented. My claim for recognition is not that T pay taxes on n residence In Pendleton and on 14.400 acres In I'nlon county, but that T have tho snn- port of the heaviest tnxpnyers in the west end of the county who are very earnest In their support.
