The game : starts at 7 p.m. standard time. ' It will be the first meeting in history between the teams, and :a memorable one for a number of reasons. '. Fans expect for one thing to -see a duel between two of the '-nation's most explosive backs Dave Hoppmann of Iowa State, who led the country in total of ; fense last year, and Terry Baker of Oregon State, an All-Coast ,' selection as quarterback who has . accounted for 2,703 yards in two -seasons. ' Hoppmann, who divided his , time between quarterback and halfback In his team s 14-7 open 'ing win over Drake last week end, is expected to operate full time at halfback this week. That will increase the threat of his running ability. Larry Switzcr . will take over as quarterback. Baker, who was under wraps - much of last year forbidden to 'run until the last 10 minutes of ' each game also will be turned loose, coach Tommy Prothro of : Oregon State said. Then he Rot the . scouting reports on Iowa State's victory over Drake. ; "I feel just like the poker "player who's convinced he has the best hand, then gets beat en," Prothro said. Nevertheless Oregon State is ! regarded locally as a one-touchdown favorite. Weather forecasters say it will be cool wtlh some clouds, but no rain is in the offing.
