Called MV milk, an abbrevia tion for multi-vitamin and min erals, this new product is being made available on local House-to-house deliveries as well as through retail grocery outlets. The particular enrichment of each quart of niilk includes the following: Vitamin A, considered effective for anti-infection, better vision, clear skin and healthy hair; Vi tamin B-l (thiamine), good for appetites, digestion and nerve function; Vitamin B-2 (ribofla vin), a growth vitamin; niacin (another B vitamin) also is for growth, digestion and healthy nerves. Stews, bisques, chowders, gum bosby whatever name a hearty fish soup is called, it's always satisfying and nutritious. This Fish Gumbo, based on a popular southern recipe, is a good dish to feed the youngsters when they come home from school because it's both nourishing and filling. The ingredients consist of fish fillets which are on the U. S. De partment of Agriculture's plenti ful list, and canned tomatoes and okra, which some canneries are now combining. Relish, Peanut Butter Make Tasty Sandwich "Wonderful" Is the best word to describe the flavor of a whole wheat bread sandwich with a raisin relish filling. Make the relish by combining a pound can of jellied cranberry sauce with cup raisins, 'i teaspoon cinna mon and 2 tablespoons lemon juice. ChilH several hours. Fish Gumbo 1 pound frozen fish fillets (cod haddock or ocean perch) cup butter or margarine 2 large onions, chopped 2 green peppers, chopped 2 No. 2 cans tomatoes and okra 2 teaspoons salt 'A teaspoon pepper 1 bay leaf 1 cup cooked rice Let fillets thaw on the bottom shelf of the refrigerator or at room temperature. Meanwhile melt butter in a saucepan. Add onions and peppers and cook un til tender. Stir in canned toma toes and okra and seasonings. Cook over low heat at least IS minutes (overcooking doesn't hurt gumbo so long as the fish hasn't been added). Cut thawed fillets into cubes. About 10 min utes before serving lime, add fish and rice to gumbo. Cook about 8 Minutes or until fish flakes easily when tested with a fork. Makes 4 servings. New Vitamin-Packed Milk Introduced Here This Week Vitamin D, commonly known as the "sunshine vitamin," con tributes to building sound bone structure, helps to prevent tooth decay and rickets in children. Calcium, naturally present in milk, builds bones and teeth as well as aiding in the normal func tioning of the heart and nerves. Phosphorus is another bone and tooth builder. Iron contributes to the forma tion of red blood corpuscles. Io dine, necessary for proper func tioning of thyroid- glands, helps to prevent goiter.
