Mar. 81, 1947 McMinnville Men Set Visit : Four carloads of McMinnville men art scheduled to arrive in Kugene at S p.m. March 26 on a good neighbor tour of Central and Southern Oregon, sponsored by the Oregon Advertising Club and the McMinnville Chamber or com merce. The group will leave Portland early March 25, and will spend two days visiting Chambers of Commerce in 13 cities, as a part of acquainting themselves with the tourist possibilities about tne state. Police Chief L. L. Fittenger an nounced Friday that city police would start clearing the parking area around the Eugene Hotel in front of the Chamber of Commerce office at 8 p.m. on March 26, so that the caravan would be able to top without losing time looking for parking spaces nearby. Librarian Announces Hours for Vacation Dr. R. C. Swank, University of Oregon library head, has an nounced the library hours for spring vacations as follows: Friday, March 21, and Monday, March 31: 8 a. m. to 6 p. m.; Sat urday, March 22 through Saturday, March 28: 8 a. m. to 5 p. m.; closed Sundays, March 23 and 30. Ex-Resident 'Best-Dressed' Vivien Kellems, former F,u- genean and daughter of Mrs. Louisa Kellems of this city, Friday was voted the best dressed Amer ican woman in the business world by the Fashion Academy of New Vork City. The legislature had asked the hnnrd to investieate the Dossibility of moving the Fairview Home to Camp White, near Medford. The state could get the institution for nothing from the government, but the board's committee said oper ating costs would be great, and that the buildings are so scattered that it would be uneconomical. The free public show of single blossoms and arrangements will be held in the Eugene Hotel Lobby Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 10 p.mi Large crowds have attended pre vious camellia shows, Lyons said. Last year there was a great variety of blooms entered In the show, Lyons said, and members of the camellia society are hoping lor even more entries this year, The show is a display and no prizes are given.
