A pair of gold rimmed eye glasses found on the campus sev eral days ago has been turned over to city police, where they are being held for the unidentified owner. The glasses are in a green case. City police have two lost bill folds which they would like to have claimed. One is black, con taining 75 cents in change, and a social security card made out to Gladys Marie Coleman. The other is brown and contains the name of Ida Knutson, Poison, Mont. Police Chief L. L. Pittenger was in Coos Bay Friday where he was scheduled to speak to Lions Club members at noon. - Articles of incorporation for the Builders Supply Co., Eugene, have been filed in Salem by G. W. Miltonberger and others with $60,- 000 capital. They will deal in building materials, the United Press reported. Ida Matilda Simmons Ida Matilda Simmons, 68, Drain, died at a Eugene hospital Thurs day. Born Nov. 21, 1878 in Ten nessee, she lived at Drain the past 25 years, formerly living at Port- land, Spokane, Wash., and Coburg. She was a member of the Meth odist Church and the North Star Chapter of Eastern Star at Drain. Surviving are a daughter, Dor othy Randall, Drain; three broth ers, Sam and James Bettis, Eu gene, and Cal Bettis, Spokane: a sister, Madeline Cool,: Drain; and two grandchildren. Services will be held at Poole- Larsen Mortuary Saturday at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Fred O. Hunt officiating. Concluding services will be at the Eugene Cremator ium. City fo Do Repairs On Faulty Asphalting The city maintenance depart ment will repair several bad spots in Eugene streets until the J. C. Compton Co., Portland contractors, can return to repair asphaltic pavement which did not meet with the approval of city officials and citizens when it was laid last-tall City Manager Deane Seeger said the company has not been paid a cent for the job, which will run in excess of $20,000. The failure of the company to do a satisfactory job was attributed to rainy and coia weather, and to inexperieced help at the plant. Seeger said en gineers who nave examined the work-indicated that the mixture was overheated. ; , A street department crew will repair the worst spots, in the next week or two, and the work will be charged to the contractors. Seeger said the .company would do the job over when the weather is auf fciently warm this summer. Quentin i W. Lynes Quentin W. Lynes, infant soiv of Mr. and Mrs. Quentin H. Lynes, 1048 Lincoln St., died in Portland Thursday: He was born Dec. 3, 1846 in Eugene. Besides his parents he Is sur vived by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. William Lynes, Olympia, Wash., and Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Jacokes, Portland. Graveside services will be held at Mt.
