The party is being arranged at one-thirty o'clock, proceeds to go to the W.P.A. nursery school. Many prizes are being awarded, both in auction and contract bridge, many of them hand-made articles. Home made candy will be served. The football theme is to be used in decorating. In Fashion Show Women's fashions for the style show will be displayed from the Kaufman Brothers store while childrens' clothes and the junior miss styles will be from Russell's store. Models for the women's di vision include Mrs. Vincent An derson, Mrs. Robert P. Booth, Mrs. George Hopkins, Mrs. E. L. Mickelson, Mrs. Wade Kerr, Mrs. Howard Ragan, Mrs. Carl ton E. Randle Mrs. Stanley Minshall will be hostess, Miss Morris Wed At Home Rites The marriage of Miss Betty June Morris, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. C. Morris, to Orval J. McPherson, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. O. McPherson, was solemnized Friday evening at a home wedding. Rev. Williston Wirt of the First Congrega tional church officiating. The wedding took place at seven o'clock. The service was performed In front of the fireplace, tall candelabrums and long sprays of fall blooms being used for decorations. For the music, Donald Brown played "I Love You Truly" preceding the ceremony. Miss Barbara Jean Morris, sister of the bride, and Frank Register, Jr., attended the couple. The bride wore a white taf feta dress, cut with full skirt and sweetheart neckline. The veil, fingertip length, was caught from a coronet of orange blossoms. For her flow ers the bride carried a shower of sweetheart roses and bou vardia. The bridesmaid wore a dress of blue chiffon and her flowers were an old fashioned nosegay. Mr. Morris gave his daugh ter in marriage. Attending the wedding were relatives and a few friends. A reception followed the ser vice. Mrs. Donald Brown cut the cake. Mrs. William J. Phair served the ices, and Mrs. A. L. Morris poured. Mrs. George E. Turer and Mrs. J. W. Kirby assisted about the room. For her going away costume, the bride wore a suit of olive green with brown accessories. Following a trip to the coast and Portland the couple will be at home in Springfield. ALL SAINTS guild of St. Mary's Episcopal church is meeting Wednesday afternoon at two o'clock at the. home of Mrs. J. D. Donovan. TWO GROUPS of the Wo men's City club are meeting this week. The child study group is to meet Thursday evening, Mrs. Lawrence Black burn, 2367 Emerald, to be hos tess, fall nature study to be the topic. Members of the art group will meet at the home of Mrs. William H. Schroeder Thurs day afternoon at two-thirty o'clock. "The Beginning of American Paintings and Our Historical Ancestors" will be the subject of a talk by Mrs. Anna Larcom. This will be fol lowed by a series of short sketches on the lives of eight artists, as follows: Jean Smy bert and Robert Feke by Mrs. B. Earle Parker: Charles Wil liam Peale and John Trumbull by Mrs. Allen Osborne; Gilbert Stuard and Thomas Sully by Mrs. A. R. Sneed; Benjamin West and John Singleton Cop ley by Mrs. Schroeder. THE U. C. T. auxiliary held its monthly social meeting at the Del Rey cafe Friday. A luncheon was served. Hostesses were Mrs. Eric E. Lawrence, Mrs. Ralph Butzirus, Mrs. R. Copinger, Mrs. Peter McNeill. Twenty-four were present. Guests were Mrs. Paul Laf ferty, Mrs. Henry Wiltse, Mrs. M. W. Unger, Mrs. George A. Halton, Mrs. Marie Welpton and Miss Helen Moell. Mrs. Halton won the prize at bridge, and Mrs. George Dinwoodie, at pinochle. WEDNESDAY Bridge club is meeting this week at the home of Mrs. G. F. Skipworth at two o'clock. WASHINGTON school P.-T. A. had its first meeting Thurs day at two-thirty o'clock in the sixth grade room. There were twenty-six mothers pres ent. Tea was served by the sixth grade girls, Mrs. Earl Robertson pouring. Mrs. Kirshman, the school nurse, gave a talk on tubercu losis. A short business meeting was held, Mrs. William Havi land being electd as treasurer and Mrs. Stephens as program chairman, assisted by Mr. Graham, sixth grade teacher. The executive board will meet Tuesday, Oct. 15. to trans act some business at the school. River Road Club Event Wednesday Members of the River Road Women's club are giving a party Wednesday afternoon at the clubhouse honoring children from pre-school age to the third grade, and their mothers. All children of this age in the com munity and their mothers are invited to attend and those go ing are to call Mrs. George Kar dell or Mrs. Geary Worth, The party will be at two o'clock. THE AMERICAN Legion auxiliary sewing club will meet for a potluck luncheon at noon Tuesday with Mrs. Clarence M. Urey. Members are asked to bring old magazines and silk stockings to send to the hospital at Roseburg. The social meet ing will be October 22. LA JUNTA club held its first meeting of the fall Friday with Mrs. W. M. Beairsto. Mrs. Ira E. Lynds and Mrs. Roy B. Wil cox won prizes at cards. The next meeting will be October 25 with Mrs. J. Ray Chapman. This will be a one-thirty des sert. HARMONY bridge club met Friday afternoon for dessert with Mrs. W. E. Hansen. Three tables of bridge were in play. Guests were Mrs. G. M. Trail er and Mrs. Wilbur Rayburn. Honors went to Mrs. BN H. Strobel, Mrs. H. J. Leonard and Mrs. A. Anderson. The next meeting will be November 8 with Mrs. Adeline Smith. M. G. A. Dial Club Sets Dinner Tuesday Dial club, a group of home and professional women limit ed to forty members, will begin its sixteenth year of meeting with a dinner at the Fairmount Presbyterian church Tuesday evening, October 15, at six fifteen o'clock. During the evening the group 'will have a "Summer Travelogue" con ducted by the various members who made trips during the summer months. For the coming year, Dial club will have a varied pro gram, highlighted by a patriotic meeting in February.
