Mahany was honored at a handkerchief shower on Wednesday' by eleven members of the mothers auxiliary of Girl Scout troop No. 4. A potluck lunch was served at noon. Mrs. W. W. Porter and Mrs. Ernest Larios were hostesses. Others present were Mrs. William Conn, Mrs. F. R. Gibons, Mrs. Ernest Summer ville, Mrs. Zola Barton, Mrs. E. M. Doran, Mrs. C. D. Jan. 20. (Spe clal) The River Road Women's club met Wednesday afternoon at the clubhouse. The hostesses In charge of the meeting were Mrs. G. G. Tanne hill, Mrs. Sigvald Skavlan, Mrs Harold Rossman, Mrs. Dupue, and Mrs. George Kardell. There was a very good representation pres sent The next meeting will be held February 7. Lindgren-Davis Wedding Tuesday The marriage of Mrs. Edith Davis to D. C. Lindgren was sol emnized Tuesday morning in the First Christian church study, Dr. S. Earl Childers, pastor, officiat ing. About sixteen were present for the wedding. Mrs. Rosemary Gib son and Luther Ruth attended the couple. The bride wore a black cos tume, with black hat and corsage of orchids. A luncheon was served at Sey mour's following the service. The couple will live in Eugene. SOCIAL EVENING FOR AUXILIARY MONDAY General Lawton camp of the U. S. W. V. and the auxiliary will hold a social evening Monday at the armory. A potluck dinner will be held at six-thirty. The com mittee in charge is Mr. and Mrs. Fred D. Schwietering, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Tunis and Mr. and Mrs. Marion Kelly. GLTLD MEETING PLANNED FOR WEDNESDAY The regular meeting for St Mary's guild of St. Mary's Epis copal church will be an all-day event in the church parish hall, Wednesday. For the luncheon at noon, Mrs. A. H. McDonald and Mrs. A. F. Sether will be in charge. EASTS IDE NEIGHBORHOOD CLUB MEETS MONDAY Eastside Neighborhood club is to meet Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the home of Mrs. John dent Woman, with the local magazine committee m cha:,re. Committee Listed Mrs. D. C. Henry, Mrs. R. M. Day, Mrs. G. W. Soranson, Miss Lucille Walker, and Mrs. Grace Moore are the committee in charge. The group plans to cany out the spring-time theme in the decora tions. Benefit Party For Paralysis Fund Set Arrangements ate being com pleted for the benefit bridge party for the national infantile paralysis fund, which will be held Monday, January 29, at one-thirty at the Osburn hotel. One half of the proceeds will remain in the county to be used in aiding victims of the disease, while the other half will go to the National Foundation for Research and Educational Work in Infantile Paralysis. In charge of the benefit are Mrs. R. C. Crow, general chair man; Mrs. D. W. Critcs, Mrs. Neil R. Hennessey, Mrs. R. C. Crow and Mrs. Howard R. Taylor, tickets; Miss Allie M. Smith, Mrs. Belle Lydick, and Mrs. Marvin T Warlick, tables and cards; Mrs. Raymond Walsh, prizes; Mrs. A. H. Norton, refreshments; and Mrs. William M. Tugman, Mrs. R. T. Burnett and Mrs. George Giustina, hostesses. Goepferd-Lund Wedding Announced The marriage of Alice M. Goep ferd, daughter of J. A. Bates of Rouan, Montana, to Hans A. Lund, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Lund, of the River Road, was solemnized Sunday, January 14, at six-thirty o'clock, Dr. S. Earl Childers of ficiating in the study of the First Christian church. Miss Clara Lund, sister ol tne bridegroom, was maid of honor, and wore a dress of teal crepe and a corsage of Camillas, sweet peas, and narcissuses. Hubert Lunn actca as dcsi man for his brother. Present at the ceremony were the bridegroom's parents. Mrs. Lund wore a black crepe dress with a corsage of sweet peas and narcissusses. After the ceremony a reception was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Stenshoel, Mrs Stenshoel being another sister of the bridegroom. Pink and blue crepe paper decorated the room, and on the bride's table a large wedding cake and pink and blue candles were placed. (Spe cial) The Court of Award of Girl Scouts troop 12 was held recently at the River Road Women's club house. A potluck supper was served, followed by a program given by the Girl Scouts. Investi ture and awarding of badges also took place. The program consist ed of a dramatization of a trip taken by the troop last summer. Lois Campbell and Patricia Hamilton were invested, after which twenty-four badges were awarded the following girls: weaving badge. Coral Jo Alford, Betty Lou Hamilton, Virginia Bailey, Romona Rankin, and Shir ley Buell; first aid, Coral Jo Al ford, Betty Lou Hamilton, Romo na Rankin, and Patricia Hamilton: design, Doreen Anderson and Coral Jo Alford; swimming, Ro mona Rankin; pioneer badge, Doreen Anderson, Romona Ran kin, Coral Jo Alford, Patricia Sorenson, Virginia Bailey, Betty Lou Hamilton, Patricia Miles, Pearl Bushncll, Marilyn Willis, and Dorothy Bushnell; drawing and painting, Romona Rankin and Doreen Anderson; second class, Ellen Croson, Doris Smith, Mari lyn Willis and Joan Hollis; first class Dorothy Bushnell.
