JUNCTION CITY, Dec. 20. (Spe cial) Schoola cloaed Friday for a two weeka vacation and the teachera have left for their virloua homes. Mr. Todd will spend Christmas at McMinnvllle. Miss Htoflel and Miss Haya at their homea and will visit Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Vanderpool will visit several places during the two weeks. Mr. Nelson, grade princi pal, left Saturday for his home In Portland. Miss Oxner, Miss Taylor and Miss Rossman will be at their va rloua homea part of the time. Mre. Ballard, Mrs. Douglas, Miss McMul len and Miss Burgess, local teachera, will apend most of the vacation at their homea. At the grade achoot Friday after noon the children received their treat from their teachers and practiced their parte for the evening's entertainment which wna given Friday evening and was attended by the parents and friends of the children. (Special) One of the newe breaks of the week here was furnished bv two local men in a Wednesday evening thriller. Leon ard Beady, who waa driving an open ton auto, asked Barney Card to ac company him in the ear. A little over ten minutes later neaay torn iura to hop out, after which Ready did like wise, and they both found themselves hopping oft into some 30 feet of wa ter. In the short drive they bad taken together, It waa discovered that the car had been driven off one of the docks of the harbor here, and into the deep water.
