Anderson, All state's resident manager in Se attle, relayed Branch's statement Tuesday when the plans were made public. Several other cities were studied prior to the final choice, it was disclosed. ' . The Allstate regional office, to be constructed at the northeast corner of Ferry and Commercial Streets, will occupy the site of the first store built in Salem. A bronze plaque, which had a prominent position on the build ing recently torn down, will be placed in the. new structure, All state officials said. The plaque reads: "First Store Building Site. Boys Admit Blowing Up 3 Mailboxes 'PORTLAND m Police said Tuesday two 14-year-old schoolboys had admitted blowing up three household mailboxes in Southwest Portland recently as a prank. Sheriffs deputy Al Johnson said the boys told of finding a number of dynamite caps in a powder bouse while on an outing in South western Washington. . They used the caps to blow up the boxes, Johnson said, adding that a third boy also is sought for questioning in the affair. - Wanted Man Surrenders " SEATTLE m Ernest W. Rob erts, 30, sought for nearly six months on an indictment charging conspiracy to operate houses of prostitution in the Northwest sur rendered Tuesday and pleaded in nocent before Federal Judge George H. Boldt- Roberts, whose last known resi dence is Chicago, is one of six per sons indicted last December. The others pleaded guilty. , Wreck Kills -. - Idaho Woman LAKEVIEW m Mrs. Teresa J. Zaccardi of Nampa, Idaho, was injured fatally Tuesday when a car she was driving plunged off a highway near this Southern Oregon town. Her three sons, ranging in age from 8 to 4, were not injured in the crash. Neil Grisham of Murtaugh, Idaho, said he, his wife and another couple were en route to Idaho with the Zaccardis in separate cars, Grisham said he saw the Zac cardi car pass and a short distance up the highway they sighted the three boys climbing up a bank from their wrecked car. Their mother was pinned under the car. fatally injured, he said. COINCIDENCE HARTFORD, Conn. (UP) Nicholas F. Rago, 16, appeared in police court on a charge of obtaining money under false pre tenses. The judge was Nicholas F. Rago. no relation.
