Twenty seven applications for membersnlp have been received with a num ber more still le be turned 4n, which promises to be one of the largest Knights of Columbus class initiations Jor this district In years. The candidates and members will receive Communion in a body at the 7:30 mass U Stay- ton that morning, followed by breakfast at the Bon Ton. Scott-Moser Clan To Gather Sunday SILVERTON The Scott-Moser clan will gather at the Silverton park Sunday for its annual re union and- present will be Mrs. Icebella Scott, only remaining member of her generation of the welt known pioneer Hartman family. The. affair will be the 11 th annual reunion and Ernest Hart man of .Wapinitla Is the presi dent. Should - it rain the clan will meet in the Knights of Pythias hall at Silverton. UNION HILL The Young Grangers of America group of this grange will meet Saturdav night at the grange hall here Voting grangers are urged to at tend. Salem Grange will meet Satur day night at 8 o'clock at the ha'l on E street. First and second de grees will be given. Cowden, prominent mill man from the old Silverton Lumber company days is at the Immanuel hospi tal for two or three weeks with a shattered knee cap sustained on July 4 as he and Ed Bank were returning from a - fishing trip along the butte. The : two men were walking on the flume when a protruding bolt tripped Mr. Cowden and -his knee hit on the three-quarter inch Iron band holding . the flume. X-rays . were taken at Silverton Wednesday" following which he was removed to Port land where he is under the care of specialists.
