Experts agree that carelessness more than speed is responsible for the staggering loss of life, limb and property in automobile accidents annually. Collier's The National Weekly enlisting early in the campaign, is sponsoring four simple hand signals for motorists, which if made universal practice, will help to reduce Half Block North of Post Office Phone 883 accidents from automobiles. Confusion in hand signals results in thousands of acci dents; such accidents would be avoidable if all motorists used i the same signals. The signals are illustrated here ; they were originally posed by Tommy Milton, the world's fastest automobile driver, and were actually worked out in practice by Tommy Milton and a large group of driving experts. Familiarize yourself with these signals; practice them yourself ; tell your neighbors about them; everybody use them.
