'Miss Strand, of tne,Strand room ing'house, received some badly barned arms and hands,' also her face, when a lamp exploded one evening last -week. 'MIss Strand had; sent a boy to the store for kerosene but evidently? a mistake was made,iby ; some one, for it proved to be gasoline instead. Had it not been for her level head there probably would have been a serious loss by fire, ' For when the lamp exploded the curtains near by immediately caught fire. Miss Strand put out the fire and then went for the local physician 5? Clarence Currier received a badly bruised foot when a tie. f elf on it while working at West Fir. The daughter was unhurt but Mrs. Mc Allister was badly bruised up. They are now at Kitson Springs with the latter's'mother, Mrs War field. The car they were driving was badly wrecked. Little Miss Carvel Gibson enter tained a number of small friends on her fourth birthday, October lath. The afternoon was snent playing games, after which dain ty refreshments were served. Mrs- John Thomas and' family of Medford were visiting at the home of George Jory recently. . The walnut crop in this section was good. It is coming to a close.
