She will be longer coming here, how ever, as her orders call for stopping at Honolulu to oeiivor a small consign ment of freight Europe. , brought out from NEARLY READY FOH SLIDE Steamer Hyah Will Soon Leave Ways at Stipple's Boatyard. The steamer Hyak, which Is being built at Ruplle's shipyard In this city for the Kitsap Navigation company of X'uget sound, will be ready for launch ing In a couple of weeks. The outer planking Is now being put on, the frame work having been completed. The Hyak will be a speedy passenger steamer and will be devoted largely, It Is understood, to the excursion business next year during the fair. She will be handsomely appointed with large ac commodations. Another boat being built here for the Puget sound excursion business next year is the H. B. Kennedy, a steel craft tinder construction at the yards of the 'Willamette Iron and Steel morka. OFF FOR TILLAMOOK ' One Steamer Sailed Last Night and Another Sails Tomorrow.. . The steamer Sue H. Elmore lost no time in the harbor yesterday afternoon for she had hardly reached Couch street dock from Tillamook before a gang of longshoremen was at work digging out th cargo which consisted principally of dairy products. By f o'clock she again loaded and started on her return trip. It is believed to be the quickest dispatoh ever given j an , ocean steamer ,ia , the PjThe steamer Argo, opposition boat to the Elmore on the Tillamook, .run, reached Portland about the same time in order not to parallel with the Elmore she will be held over until Monday night. The Argo, too, brought consid. erable freight and it is said will , go out taxed to the capacity. With these two boats' doing their best to maintain a weekly schedule the Seople of Tillamook are having the est transportation they ever enjoyed and It is said therei Is great rejoicing on tne oay. - INLAND EMPIRE READY . . New Open River Boat Starts Out for Paeco.Thls Week. The Open River Transportation com pany's steamer Inland Empire will go Into commission this week between Ce lilo and Pasco on the Upper Columbia river. She will operate in conjunction with the Steamer Sarah Dixon and J. N.
