Andorinha and Lydgatc Coming' ' in Ballast. ONE IT AS RECX)RD FOB IAEGE CAEGO Exportn Begin In Earnest to Pro vide for Handling of Immense Wheat Crop That Will Be Har rested This S a miner. Two Immense wheat cargoes will be 1 sent away from here this fall on sail ing vessels according to an announce ment , made this morning. .. They will be carried by the British barks Andor inha and Lydgste and. combined will represent about J 7 5.000 bushels. The Andorinha, was her in January, 1904. and took awav the largest wheat cargo even set afloat here on a sailing snip, tne exact Quantity oeing isz.tei bushels. It was about the same time that the mammoth tramp steamer Lime iirancn jeri here wun tne recora breaklng steamer wheat cargo, her ship ment belnr 269.000 bushels, the largest wheat cargo ever set afloat from the pacuio northwest or possiDiy ixom any port in the world. . K .. xne Anaorinna recifwr r r net , She will come her la ballast from Iqulque where she arrived 4-auu.-ary 22 with a part cargo of general merchandise from Europe via Valpar aiso. She Is in command of Captain Griffiths. The bark Lvdgate. while not as large as the Andorinha, Is a big carrier, her net register being 2,350 tons. She left Hamburg February 9 tor Santa Rosalia with general cargo and was - spoken March 21 In ( north. 24 west She wa here in 1900 for a cargo of wheat. She too will come in ballast It Is possible that the big windjam mers will get away with still larger cargoes than they carried on their for mer visits here because a .measure is under consideration to have the loading line on British sailing vessels raised sufficiently to increase the capacity one fourth of that now indicated by the pllmsol mark. This would give the Andorinha about 40,000 more bushels than she took out last time. GASPIPE THUG IN FRISCO. . Sailors Afraid to Leave Vessels! Be cause of Rough Element.
