Regarding the current rumor that the Harrlman companlea have completed plans for a new double-track steel bridge, and that work Is about to bo commenced on such a structure to take the place of the present steel bridge, Mr. O'Brien was not confirmatory, al though he stated that in course of an nual Inspections of the present bridge for making repairs plans for double and single-track bridges had been made. He stated that no decision had been reached regarding the bridge question, but ad mitted that in his Judgment a double track bridge would ultimately be built Asked regarding the recently pub lished rumor that a number of the latest gasoline motor cars would be sent to the O. No decision has been reached." A contract ha been let to Robert Wakefield tor construction of tha con crete piers for the Southern Pacific brldg to ba built over the Willamette river at Oswego. Work cannot be started until the river recedes to Ita low stage. The steel has been ordered, and the spans will be $.00 feet long.
