May 11 Members of the executive committee and the commit tee of arrangements for the Inter church conference on moderation have at a meeting here approved plans for a meeting of the representatives of th various Protestant churches of the United States to be held at Carnegie hall, November 1J-10. The conference Is to be the largww In the history of the Protestant church in America. Delegates from the vajrtous denomina tions will represent 17,000,000 church members. Chicago, May 12. a dispatch to the Record Herald fnom San Francisco, says: "The Norwegian consul here has re celved an order for provisions to be sent north on a whaling arctic explor er, who sailed from Norway on June 17,1903, in an endeavor to find the northwest passage. From the fact that supplies are to be sent nwth by the Pacific ocean, it is argued that thla great quest of arctic explorers for more than 400 years has been suc cessful and that the explorer will soon appear on the Pacific coast.
