R. S. VAN CLEVE, toleS&Egon DEALER IN GENERAL MERCHANDISE Where you get the Best Goods at the Lowest Prices. Call and I'll prove it Mr. Harriman apparently means business alwut building railroads in Oregon says the Portland Journal. He gives positive assurance about the road . into Central Oregon. That of itself, after all these years of waiting is a good deal. It means a revolutionary development of a large portion of the state, and its effects will b.' felt in other parts of the state, especially in Portland. The road to' Tillamook within a year or two seems also assured. From all indication its construction has been definately decided upon. This will be no less important than the Central Oregon road, possibly even more imnortant to Portland. i The line from Natron to Weed, ; avoiding the heavier and more tor j tuous grades of the Siskvyous, will without doubt also be constructed I in the near future. This will not ; only give an easier line to California I but will also open up a large new territory to this city, The road from Drain to Coos Buy Mr. ILuii-I man does not promise or talk about so encouragingly, lie wants to know whether, for 10 years it can earn 4 per cent on 85,000,000, and we believe he can be shown that it will. The building of these roads with in the next two years or so means great things for Oregon. It means the expenditure here of perhaps $15,000,000 or $20,000,000 in rail road construction, and ih u means letter times ,for everybody. It means a greatly increased popula tion, and such a growth and. de velopment of Oregon as it has never witnessed. It means tens of thous ands more producers, a vastly in creased agricultural output, hund- reds of new manufactories, more local electric lines, larger and more . vigerous towns, a state rapidly . , , . growing at least toward its proper and destined greatness. Mr- Harriman's promise spells ; with "lul "O peHSllUJHIU He said he dential election. However that goes, Oregon is going to be all right. And once it gets the booming for ,.,r,,l it.;, ,.:i ,1 i.,.:i.i will continue indifinitly. - Ladies' Misses' and rubbers at Stewart's. childrens' Waldport Real Estate Tirm.
